I once had a blog some years back in the spring of 2005 known as "sundown" which pretty much characterized my emotionality and persona back then (a gentle soul with light all around her but with the constant struggle of falling down into sadness and shadows)
In any case, during my time of sharing my feelings and fears, my strengths and myself through this blog, I quickly gained the attention of another fellow reader who became a fan of my writing because of the way i could powerfully express myself in words. he was a poet and he was mesmerized by my writing but also by my sadness as well, i think and that is why he wanted to help.
he once wrote me this poem and gave it to me as a gift. shortly after, he left the site mysteriously and disappeared. but i always appreciated these words. this poem. because it captured so much of who i was right then (and can be, even to this day), and still amazes me how a simple stranger could write about me and describe me so very accurately.
i kept the poem somewhere safe so it wouldn't get lost and so i could look back on, to remember what was happening back then.
here it is:
Samurai sword of passion...
Reject it, Pawn it, Sell it,
Toss it in a lake.
Minimize pride,
Forget about honor ...
Stop drowning yourself
In nets of perfection.
You're not a nun
This ain't a convent
Go ahead have fun
No need to repent.
Mortality is a gravity race
Run by hearts & minds tossed
Thru space that begs & pleads
For sun up, sun down & in between.
You are a cat on a roller coaster
Feline with paws caught in a toaster
Climb back down from that falling tree
Much finer than you feel; Now break free.
